Cricket has been played in Betley since 1847, and we are keen to ensure that the village continues to enjoy the benefits of having a local cricket club.

We are adopting a philosophy called The Betley Way. It is about recognising, and coaching local talent, allowing all players to flourish in an environment that develops their game.

We will be investing in the fabric of the club, making sure that the environment to play is first rate and also ensuring the approach of all the players upholds the spirt of cricket thus make playing for Betley a positive experience.

We recognise the importance of junior cricket, not only as the foundation of any club, but also as part of the broader picture of cricket in England.  We are participating in all the ECB junior initiatives to get children involved with cricket from an early age.
The ECB and Staffordshire Cricket are involved in new initiatives including their “All Stars Cricket” www.ecb.co.uk/play/all-stars. That aims to develop enthusiasm for sport and cricket aged 5-8, which we will be taking part in.

We will be hosting training sessions for juniors from the 13th April 2018, and our aim is to have in place upgraded practice facilities from then to ensure the sessions are fully enjoyed by all.

We also welcome social members to watch a game of cricket in beautiful surroundings and also take part in our off field activities.

We have secured two generous local sponsors for this season, and together we have jointly agreed to promote the local fundraising charity Betley Bike Curious on our match shirts. #TheBetleyWay
