Betley Cricket Club
The roots of Betley Cricket Club can be traced back to 1847 and since that time, the Club has been firmly entrenched in the community life of the village.
Set in the rolling hills on the North Staffordshire and Cheshire border, with far reaching views to the Welsh Hills, the Club is the epitome of a quintessential english cricket ground. On many occasions, the sound of leather on willow is accompanied by the sound of the bells from the nearby 10th century church.
Betley Cricket Club is proud of its heretage and place within the life of the village. There are strong links with other social and sporting organisations in the area and in fact, the ground of the local football team is in the adjacent field and its players make full use of the Cricket Club facilities.
The Club achieved promotion to Division One of the North Staffs & South Cheshire League in 2009. In addition to this success, there is a thriving Junior Cricket Section with teams at Under 11 years, Under 15 years and Under 17 years, the players of which benefit from a dedicated and qualified coaching and welfare team.
The Club is always looking for new players at both senior and junior levels, no matter what level of ability that they may have.
If you wish to join the Club, or simply wish to obtain more information with a view to joining, then please contact John Machin on 01270 820117 or e-mail: betleycc@hotmail.com
